How Does A Pre-School Child Comprehend 'Germs' ?

This is a great activity to help children understand the concept of germs.

Most parents and teachers are focusing on hygiene and hand washing . Recent events meant this is a vital life-skill for all - old and young. 

One visual learning activity is the Pepper Game . By placing pepper into a bowl of water, then placing one finger into the bowl, the pepper, or ‘germs’ are easily visible to the children. 

But ... once a soapy finger is placed into the bowl … the ‘germs’ scatter !!!! The kids think it's hilarious and amazing - but it is a great learning moment when they can actually SEE that soap scares away the germs. Soap becomes the super-hero of the day.
